CARMEN MIRANDA: THE QUEEN OF SAMBA
Growing up in Brazil, Carmen Miranda was everywhere — joyful, vibrant, unforgettable. But as I became an artist and later an immigrant in the United States, I began asking deeper questions:
Who was the woman behind the icon? What did it mean to be a Brazilian artist building a career in America? And how do those stories still shape Latin representation today?
That is how Carmen Miranda: The Queen of Samba was born.
This project is more than a musical. It is an immersive cultural experience bringing together theatre, exhibition, film, and education.
The musical already became a success in Brazil, reaching 178 performances and more than 60,000 audience members — and now we are working toward its U.S. premiere in Winter 2026/27 at a venue TBA.
Alongside the production, audiences will experience:
