23rd Annual Los Angeles Brazilian Carnaval

Los Angeles, CA — The 23rd Annual Los Angeles Brazilian Carnaval returns to Catch One on Sunday, March 1, 2026, bringing the vibrant spirit, rhythm, and energy of Brazil’s most celebrated cultural tradition to Southern California.

Now in its 23rd year, this iconic West Coast celebration continues to deliver an authentic Carnaval experience filled with live music, samba dancers, Brazilian cuisine, and nonstop dancing. For one unforgettable night, Los Angeles transforms into a high-energy Carnaval celebration inspired by the legendary festivities of Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, Bahia.

This year’s lineup features an extraordinary roster of Brazilian talent:

Headlining the evening are Jahgun & Batukaxe Band, bringing the powerful rhythms of Bahia with an electrifying performance rooted in Afro-Brazilian traditions. Representing the vibrant sound of Rio de Janeiro is Grupo Resenha, delivering classic samba, marchinhas, frevo, and samba-reggae that transport audiences straight to Brazil’s most iconic Carnaval streets.

The celebration continues with performances by the Los Angeles Samba School and the L.A. Samba Dancers, showcasing high-energy choreography, elaborate feathered costumes, and the athletic artistry that defines Brazilian samba culture.

Adding to the excitement, DJ Novinho and DJ Sherman will keep the dance floor alive throughout the night with the best Brazilian dance beats. Special guest Bia Borinn presents a dazzling tribute to Carmen Miranda, honoring one of Brazil’s most internationally recognized cultural icons.

Beyond the music and dance, guests will enjoy authentic Brazilian flavors with traditional appetizers and festive drinks available for purchase, enhancing the immersive cultural experience.

Produced by Brazilian Nites Productions under the direction of Patricia Leao, the Los Angeles Brazilian Carnaval has become the largest and most extravagant Brazilian Carnaval celebration on the West Coast. For more than two decades, the event has consistently drawn large crowds and maintained its reputation as L.A.’s official Brazilian Carnaval tradition.

“This event is about community, culture, rhythm, and joy,” says producer Patricia Leao. “For 23 years, we have brought the true spirit of Brazil to Los Angeles, and this year will be another unforgettable celebration.”

The event is open to all ages.
