Fundo de Quintal is part of the culture of the samba, influencing all a generation of sambistas and is one of the respected groups in the world of the samba.
Emerged in the late 70’s from a Carnival group called Cacique de Ramos, in Rio de
Janeiro, the group Fundo de Quintal set a new milestone for the music style known as pagode. Its members are mainly samba musicians from one of the greatest samba schools - Imperatriz Leopoldinense. With acclaimed samba singer Beth Carvalho as their musical godmother, Fundo de Quintal became notorious for choosing unusual instruments in samba jam sessions, such as the banjo and percussion gear. The group has made several albums and won a handful of Gold and Platinum Records. Some of Fundo de Quintal’s greatest hits are "E Eu Não Fui Convidado", "Boca sem Dente", "Parabéns pra Você", "Andei, Andei", "Do Fundo do Nosso Quintal", "Só pra Contrariar", "Miudinho", "Não Vai na Conversa Dela", "Sonhando Eu Sou Feliz", "Malandro Sou Eu" and "Tô Que Tô".
